Fresno State announced three more baseball signings for next season, including Buchanan High star infielder Korby Batesole -- son of the Bulldogs coach.
College of the Sequoias' Dylan Lee (Dinuba) and fellow left-hander Brennon Williams of San Joaquin Delta also were unveiled Wednesday by coach Mike Batesole.
"We believe in recruiting high-energy winners who come from winning programs," Batesole said in a news release. "We actively engage prospects with extraordinary character, who are excellent students and who are proven winners at the high school and community college level
"This is the reason our players are graduating and consistently turning in top-notch GPAs. Athletically, at the very top of our list were left-handed pitchers, left-handed hitters and middle infielders, and that's what we signed with this class."
Korby Batesole, who previously announced his commitment to the Bulldogs, was a key cog on a 25-8 Bears team that finished as Central Section Division I runner-up.
Lee went 13-1, leading California JC pitchers in victories while earning Central Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-State honors as the Giants reached the final four. He struck out 63 and had a 2.34 ERA in 103⅔ innings.
Delta was the state runner-up, falling to Orange Coast 5-3 in the final with Williams (Oakdale High) as the starter. He went 2-2 with a save in 23 games including two starts, striking out 20 with a 2.72 ERA in 36⅓ innings.
The three add to a recruiting class that already had been rated No. 24 in the country by Perfect Game in December, though next week's major league draft figures to thin the ranks.
