Man arrested for Visalia narcotics operation

A man was arrested after nearly $20,000 worth of narcotics was seized when officers searched three Visalia homes on Wednesday, police said.

Aristeo Carrazco-Barraza was taken into custody after agents found one pound of heroin, valued at $15,000, one pound of methamphetamine, valued at $4,000, packaging material, digital scales and around $17,000 in cash, police said.

A two-month investigation by the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gang Enforcement Team and special agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations first began after a tip that Carrazco-Barraza was allegedly running a narcotic distribution operation in Visalia.

Carrazco-Barraza was booked into Tulare County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sales and transportation/distribution of a controlled substance.
