Sheriff: Suspects wanted for Orange Cove attempted murder

The Fresno BeeMay 28, 2014

Detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office are asking for the public's help to find two men believed to be involved in a drive-by shooting that seriously injured a man earlier this month in Orange Cove.

The suspects were identified as Javier Serna Alcantar, 21, and Fabian Ramos Ramirez Jr., 47, who are both wanted on suspicion of attempted murder, said Chris Curtice, sheriff's office spokesman.

The suspects are believed to be involved in a May 11 shooting near D Street and Railroad Avenue. The man who was shot, who was not identified, underwent surgery for his injuries and is now recovering, Curtice said.

Alcantar, known as "Gallo," is described as Hispanic, 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighing 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Detectives believe Alcantar may be in the Dinuba or Sultana areas of Tulare County.

Ramirez is described as Hispanic, 5-foot 6-inches tall, weighing 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Detectives believe Ramirez may be staying in the area of Alta and Manning avenues in Reedley.

Detectives believe the wanted men are using a red-colored, 2007 Dodge Charger with California license plate number 7DLC809. At the time of the shooting, the duo were seen in a white-colored Nissan Altima that has since been recovered by authorities, Curtice said.

Anyone with information about where Alcantar or Ramirez may be is asked to call the sheriff's office at (559) 600-3111.
