Fresno Unified awards $68,000 in scholarships

Fresno Unified's board of trustees will honor 38 graduating high school seniors with $68,000 worth of scholarships at a ceremony Wednesday.

The scholarships, which range from $1,000 to $3,000, are being awarded to students from 12 high schools. Another 121 other students will receive $100 in recognition of academic achievements.

This year's scholarship fund surpasses $52,000 that was awarded in 2013-14.

The ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the Education Center Board Room, 2309 Tulare St. in downtown Fresno.
