Clothing retailer moving into empty West Shaw Avenue space

An empty commercial space on the busy West Shaw Avenue restaurant and retail corridor will soon have a permanent tenant.

CitiTrends, an urban clothing store headquartered in Savannah, will take over a 12,000-square-foot space at 2049 W. Shaw Ave., on the southwest corner of Shaw and West avenues, according to Cassidy Turley/Terranomics, a national commercial real estate firm.

The Terranomics retail division is based in Burlingame, but has offices in northern California. The company represented CitiTrends in the transaction. This will be the retailer’s first store in Fresno. It joins Fresh & Easy grocery store and Rite Aid at the start of a busy shopping area that runs through northwest Fresno.

The corridor has attracted big name businesses like Texas Roadhouse, Panera Bread, Starbucks and Dick’s Sporting Goods over the last two years. A Chili’s restaurant is currently under construction.
