For the second straight year, the Central Section was quickly swept out of the CIF Southern California Regional boys tennis playoffs.

Division I champion Bullard High fell 7-0 to visiting Los Alamitos on Tuesday afternoon, while D-I runner-up Clovis West lost 7-0 at Harvard Westlake-West Hollywood.

The Knights came close at No. 2 doubles, where Patrick Dowling and Wiley Woolf dropped a 7-5, 7-5 decision. Bullard (23-2) lost 7-0 at Palm Desert last year in a match that lasted a little more than an hour.

"If we could have closed out a couple of those sets, we could have pulled a couple victories," Bullard coach Daren Carter said. "It was more of a positive experience this year than last year."

Clovis West finishes 17-7 after a second straight SoCal Regionals loss to Harvard Westlake.

"There were a couple of close points, but nothing went our way," Golden Eagles coach Alex Sasue said. "It was a tough match in general. (Harvard Westlake) played really good."
