Passenger seriously injured in crash near Lost Lake

A passenger sustained major injuries in a one-vehicle crash Sunday night near Lost Lake, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident happened just before 8 p.m. on Friant Road, south of Bluff Avenue. The CHP said the 23-year-old male driver of a 2014 Subaru lost control of the car and crashed because of excessive speed.

The 21-year-old male passenger with major injuries was taken to Community Regional Medical Center. The driver and a 22-year-old man sustained minor injuries.
