DUI suspected in injury crash east of Sanger

The Fresno BeeMay 27, 2014

Three people sustained major injuries in a crash and the driver was arrested on charges of felony driving under the influence Sunday night east of Sanger, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash happened about 8:30 p.m. on Frankwood Avenue, north of Highway 180. The CHP said the driver, a 26-year-old man from Orosi, was southbound on Frankwood when he lost control of a 2010 Toyota and slammed into a tree. The vehicle hit another tree before coming to rest.

The driver and occupants were taken to Community Regional Medical Center. The CHP said three of the four occupants were not wearing seat belts. Because one of the occupants was 15, the driver also was charged with child endangerment.
