Hanford man jailed in sales of counterfeit CDs and DVDs

A Hanford man was booked into the Kings County Jail on Saturday on suspicion of selling thousands of counterfeit CDs and DVDs.

Hanford Police Department sent an undercover investigator to a swap meet at the Kings County Fairgrounds Saturday morning after receiving a tip that counterfeit CDs and DVDs were being sold.

The investigator found Augustin Hernandez, 45, selling the music and movies, police said. A total of 2,325 music CDs and 1,608 DVD movies were recovered, Hanford police reported. The CDs recovered were valued at $16,700 and the DVDs totaled $15,000.
