No flags at Redbank

May 24, 2014

For many years Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5057 and the Ladies Auxiliary have put up flags at the Redbank Cemetery on veterans' graves. We arrived at 8 a.m. on Thursday to put the flags on the honored men and women. The sprinklers were going and we talked to the workers. They called the Clovis Cemetery District to see about turning the sprinklers off for a couple hours. We were told no!

Due to so many veterans programs on the Memorial Day weekend, we could not return to put up the flags. Our apology to the veterans and their families for no flags on graves this year. We hope next year Clovis Cemetery District will accommodate us.
