Porterville man arrested on drug and weapons charges

The Fresno BeeMay 23, 2014

A Porterville man was arrested Thursday morning after a search of his home yielded 19 guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition, drugs and stolen power tools, police said.

A spokesman for the Porterville Police Department said that police searched one home in the 700 block of North Fourth Street and the 900 block of South Indiana Street after receiving several reports of drugs being sold out of the residences.

Officers found drugs and paraphernalia used for drug sales, several illegal assault rifles, a bulletproof vest and stolen power tools from a burglary committed in 2010.

The resident of both homes, Brian Adam Herrera Jr., 33, was booked into Tulare County Jail on nine charges.
