A late-spring snowstorm closed Tioga Pass in Yosemite National Park on Tuesday morning.

The closure extends from Crane Flat to five miles west of the pass' junction with Highway 395. It was not known how long the pass would be closed.

Snow and rain are expected in the Sierra through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. Snow levels could drop to 7,000 feet.
