On Monday, Assembly Member Jim Patterson, R-Fresno, read a statement on the Assembly floor that honored slain Fresno County farmer George Salwasser Jr.

The Biola-area raisin farmer was shot to death May 8 when he found men on his land stripping a stolen truck, authorities say. Salwasser was 38.

Four men have been arrested in connection with the shooting. All were being held in Fresno County Jail on $1.5 million bail.
