Two homebuilders who construct and then raffle off a house for charity have some updates on this year’s giveaways.

Granville Homes broke ground on its Home of Hope early this year and will unveil the finished house during a grand opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in northeast Fresno's Copper River Ranch community

This year's home is a 1,300-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom cottage-style home with granite countertops, an alarm system and Granville's Eco-Smart technology.

Since 2006, Granville's Home of Hope raffle has raised more than $2.7 million for eight Central Valley nonprofits.

Only 5,000 tickets will be sold this year at $100 each. The grand prize winner will have the option of choosing the house or $100,000 in cash.

For tickets, call (559) 440-8388 or visit a Granville office. The drawing will be held on June 11.

De Young Properties broke ground on its eighth St. Jude Dream Home on April 23. The Clovis builder has raised more than $6.5 million through its giveaway for the children's research hospital.

The dream home is a 3,100-square-foot, five-bedroom, three-bathroom EnergySmart home in the CountrySide neighborhood, at Armstrong and Ashlan avenues, in Clovis.

Tickets are also $100 and will go on sale Aug. 15. The drawing will be held Nov. 9 on KMPH (Channel 26.1).
