Valley Red Cross provides wildfire training

The Fresno BeeMay 13, 2014

The American Red Cross Central Valley Region is launching a program called Wild Firestopper, providing participants with decision-making skills in the event of a wildfire in their community.

The program is aimed to prepare the community for the expected severe wildfire season and is supported by Cal Fire and the U.S. Forest Service.

It give participants necessary skills to make decisions about evacuating during a wildfire. It also give participants the opportunity to explore what resources are needed for sheltering-in-place during or after a disaster.

For more information on the Wild Firestopper program, or to volunteer with the Red Cross, visit redcross.org/CentralValleyRegion or call (559) 455-1000.
