A senior executive for Los Angeles-based Roll Global has been named to Fresno State's University Advisory Board, which is a group of community leaders who counsel President Joseph Castro.

University officials on Monday announced the appointment of Noemi Donoso, senior vice president of education initiatives for Roll Global, the holding company for several brands such as Wonderful Pistachios and FIJI Water. She joins the advisory board, which includes members in the business, health and education fields.

Donoso previously served as a top academic officer in both Chicago and Denver public school districts. She started her career as a high school teacher in Los Angeles.

"I am pleased Dr. Donoso has agreed to serve on the University Advisory Board," Castro said in a statement. "She brings an expertise in education that will provide valuable insights."
