A 22-year-old Visalia motorcyclist suffered major injuries in a crash Thursday morning on Highway 190 east of Porterville.

Kevin Brewer was westbound on a Honda east of Redwood Drive in Sequoia National Forest when he laid the bike down, the California Highway Patrol said.

He fractured his right ankle and cut his right arm and was transported to Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville, the CHP said.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation but alcohol does not appear to have played a role in the crash, the CHP said.
