The California Department of Transportation said lanes and connector ramps on highways 198 and 43 will be closed beginning Tuesday throughout Kings County for maintenance.

Tuesday, the connector ramp from northbound Highway 43 to eastbound Highway 198 will be closed between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. The closure will include the right lane of eastbound Highway 198 from Highway 43 to Seventh Avenue.

The right lane of eastbound Highway 198 will be closed the same time Wednesday between Avenal Cut Off Road and the Kings River.

The right lane of westbound Highway 198 will be closed in the same place Thursday, including the Avenal Cut Off ramp. Motorists will need to use 25th Avenue as an alternative exit.

Caltrans encourages motorists to take alternate routes and to expect delays.
