Elementary students compete in Science Olympiad Saturday

More than 1,100 students from grades 3-6 will compete in a variety of events in the Elementary Science Olympiad Competition on Saturday at Sunnyside High School, 1019 S. Peach Ave. in southeast Fresno.

Events cover a wide variety of scientific topics and will test each student's teamwork and research skills as well as his or her overall scientific knowledge.

The competition begins at 9 a.m. The awards ceremony is at 1 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
