Two people were killed in a single-vehicle crash in southwest Fresno early Thursday, police said.

Police were dispatched about 12:20 a.m. and found a crashed Honda Accord in an empty lot east of B Street and north of California Avenue, Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez said.

The Fresno County Coroner's Office identified the two victims: Terry Pegues Jr., 22, and Tracy Kearney, 54, both of Fresno.

The vehicle struck a large block wall and rolled several times. The wall was toppled by the impact, Gomez said.

The crash remains under investigation. Witnesses told police the Honda was traveling north on Elm Avenue approaching a curve toward California when it accelerated and veered off the roadway, striking the wall.
