Tioga Pass opening soon

Tioga Pass, the Sierra corridor to Mono Lake, may be opening as soon as this weekend.

The pass was opened from the east on April 18, but a series of storms rolled in last week and forced the closure of Highway 120.

Mono County Supervisor Byng Hunt told the Mammoth Times that Tioga Pass was scheduled to fully open last Friday, but the storm pushed the target date back.

Hunt hinted that the all clear to open the pass from both sides could come Saturday or Sunday.
