Bandit robs Strathmore cafe, flees in Volvo sedan

A Strathmore cafe was robbed Tuesday afternoon when a bandit pointed a handgun at the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department said.

The robbery was reported about 1:20 p.m. in the 22300 block of Avenue 196. Deputies said the suspect fled the scene in a dark blue or black Volvo four-door sedan. The vehicle was last seen traveling north on Road 216 from Avenue 208.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late teens to early 20s, wearing a black T-shirt, khaki shorts, black shoes and a black hat.
