Man dies in single-car crash west of Selma

A man was killed late Tuesday night in a single-vehicle crash west of Selma, the California Highway Patrol said.

The man, whose identity has not been released pending notification of his family, was thrown from his 2001 Toyota, which came to rest on top of him about 11:30 p.m. at Temperance Avenue south of Floral Avenue, CHP said.

For unknown reasons, he lost control of the Toyota while turning left onto Temperance from Floral, CHP said. He was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
