There's no drama in the Fresno City Council District 5 campaign -- it'll be incumbent Sal Quintero in a landslide.

His is the only name on the June 3 primary ballot. No one bothered to challenge the popular representative of southeast Fresno, who also served two terms for District 5 from 1995 to 2003.

Quintero said he's already making plans for the second term.

There is more senior housing to build on the Ventura Avenue/Kings Canyon Road corridor. There are potholes to fill, trees to trim, streets to repave. There are infill projects to complete and a proposed agriculture-tourism center on Peach Avenue to get off the ground.

The senior hot meals program, always something dear to Quintero's heart, needs more money, he said.

Quintero said these and a dozen other issues have been at the top of his agenda since he took office in January 2011. They'll remain so, he said.

"We want to keep the momentum going."
