Pedestrian hit in southwest Fresno

A pedestrian received major injuries after being hit by a car in southwest Fresno in the early morning hours on Sunday.

California Highway Patrol officials say the person -- whose name, age and sex have not been released -- was struck at the intersection of Cherry and East Lincoln avenues at 4:40 a.m.

The person was transported to an area hospital with a possible broken leg and other injuries, officials say.

No one was arrested in the incident.
