Central High School's concert band won four awards and was invited to a prestigious music festival during a competition in Seattle over the weekend.

The 70-person band took home first place in the Heritage Festival's concert band category, plus three other honors for their performances.

It's not the first time the band and orchestra students have raked in prizes.

They received top honors at festivals in both Porterville and Reedley this year, and the winter percussion ensemble won two first place awards at Clovis North's competition in mid-March.

The Central concert band has been invited to play in an upcoming Festival of Gold.
