The Fresno BeeApril 13, 2014

Military Appreciation Day in May will be a combination of celebration and support, offering family fun, a job fair, supportive services, workshops and seminars at Clovis Veterans Memorial District.

Many different organizations will assemble for the May 17 event, which will be held at 808 Fourth St. and run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Participants include organizations involved in health and supportive care, from dentistry to companion dogs, and there will be workshops on veterans' pension aid, estate planning and retirement planning.

Several businesses will be on hand to accept résumés from veterans and service members, including the city of Clovis, Lowe's, the California Highway Patrol, Children's Hospital Central California and the California Department of Corrections.

The event is open to veterans, service members and their family.

A complimentary lunch will be served, and many food vendors and entertainers will be present. The event will also include a bounce house, Ducky the Clown, a Clovis fire engine and ponies.
