Eight central San Joaquin Valley districts receive state building funds

The State Allocation Board announced Monday that it has awarded more than $36 million for eight central San Joaquin Valley school districts to help finance shovel-ready construction projects.

The funding for the projects is provided by bonds from Propositions 1A, 1D, 47 and 55. The board's accelerated funding rules permit the districts to submit approved projects for funds to be released within 90 days of receiving the apportionment.

The Valley districts that received funding are: Coalinga/Huron Joint Unified, $5,534,993; Firebaugh-Las Deltas Unified, $925,748; Fowler Unified, $499,663; Fresno Unified, $8,691,399; Washington Unified, $2,415,809; Buena Vista Elementary, $460,302; Dinuba Unified, $18,023,048; and Lindsay Unified, $212,691.
