The Fresno BeeApril 3, 2014

School: Fresno

Grade/position: Senior/guard

Fast break: Gift from Houston as a 6-foot-3 guard with textbook outside stroke and driving ability as well, he set school season records for 3-pointers (76) and points (796) while finishing among state leaders with a 24.9 average. He delivered 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in 62-61 upset of top-seeded Roosevelt as Fresno captured the Central Section Division III title — the school's first in 34 years — in a school-record 28-5 season. North Yosemite League MVP averaged 11 rebounds, eight assists.

He said it: "Those numbers are out of this world. And he was the only player I saw in the section who was constantly double- and triple-teamed. He's a stud D-1 kid who should sign (with a college) in late spring. And he could have gone D-1 in football, too, if he wanted to." — Warriors coach Carvell Wafer
