The Fresno County Office of Education's Adult Transition Program will receive the Hands Across the Valley Award on Wednesday at the 46th annual HandsOn Central California luncheon.

The luncheon at the Fresno Convention Center is from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Hands Across the Valley event honors volunteers for outstanding contributions to the community. HandsOn is formerly the Volunteer Center of Fresno County.

The Adult Transition Program assists students with moderate to severe developmental delays. Five of the transition classes volunteer weekly at the Community Food Bank doing various tasks from bagging produce to assembling holiday food packages.
