CHP crackdown on distracted driving

California Highway Patrol and San Joaquin Valley police officers will be cracking down on cell phones, texting and other driver distractions in April, which is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month. CHP Central Division Chief Jim Abrames and Martha Tessmer, whose son, Donovan, died in a 2007 distracted-driving crash, spoke at a April 3, 2014 news conference.
