Clovis' Stephanie Costa, reality TV contestant, arrested on domestic violence charge

A Clovis woman who appeared in an episode of the reality TV series "Millionaire Matchmaker" was arrested Wednesday night and booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony domestic violence and vandalism charges, said Fresno police Lt. Joe Gomez.

Stephanie Marie Costa, 31, allegedly committed the crimes at a residence on Glen Castle Way in northeast Fresno. Police have tried to find her for the past two days. They succeeded around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday when they caught Costa at her Clovis home, Gomez said.

On "Millionaire Matchmaker," Costa was one of the love-seeking daters on the Bravo reality series.

In January, an assisted living company owned by Costa was the target of protest by a group of Filipino caregivers who wanted the company to pay them back wages and overtime totaling $1.6 million.

The workers were supported by a May 2013 decision by the California Labor Commission that cited Costa's company, Bedford Care Group, for labor law violations, including unpaid minimum wage and overtime, meal and rest break violations and failure to issue itemized wage statements.

According to a Bee story posted Jan. 23, Costa had filed an appeal of the state's decision, saying the workers were paid fairly.
