Fresno County formally OKs hiring new counsel

Dan Cederborg was formally named Fresno County counsel Tuesday by a 5-0 vote of the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.

For the past eight years, He has been working in the Yolo County Counsel's office. Prior to that, he worked for the San Joaquin County counsel.

Cederborg replaces Kevin Briggs, who retired last week after 26 years in the Fresno County counsel's office. He spent the past five years as county counsel.

Cederborg starts on April 28.

Cederborg will be paid $169,702 annually -- what Briggs was making and the maximum for the county counsel position.
