Valley Oak SPCA hosts fundraising walk for animals

Valley Oak SPCA is registering participants for its 23rd annual Walk A Dog A Thon on April 26 in Visalia.

The three-mile walk at Plaza Park is organized by the Valley Oak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to raise money through participant donations.

There will be a variety of competitions and entertainment featured throughout the event, such as canine contests for best trick, happiest wag and "bobbing for biscuits." Dogs will also be available for adoption.

A minimum donation of $25 is required to take part in the walk with or without a dog. Participants will win prizes if they raise at least $50 in donations.

Forms are available online and at the two Valley Oak SPCA locations in Visalia. Registration on the day of the event begins at 8 a.m. The walk starts at 9 a.m.
