A 30-year-old Clovis man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol Friday after he struck two vehicles -- one belonging to a Caltrans worker -- on Highway 99 in Fresno, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accidents happened around 9:45 a.m. north of Belmont Avenue on Highway 99. The suspected DUI driver was travelling southbound about 65 mph when he lost control of his 2002 Mercury, which reportedly began weaving between the lanes, the CHP said. He struck the right front of a 2007 Chevrolet driven by a 26-year-old Fresno woman, also headed southbound, before slamming into the left rear of a Caltrans vehicle parked on the side of the highway.

The 30-year-old, who was cut under his right eye in the crash, was arrested. No other injuries were reported, the CHP said.
