The man who died Monday night in a crash at Brawley Avenue and Highway 180 just west of Fresno has been identified as Joseph Ferguson, 39, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office said Tuesday.

Just after 7:30 p.m., a white Ford F150 pickup was stopped on eastbound Highway 180, waiting to turn left onto Brawley Avenue. As the driver began to turn, Ferguson, headed west behind the wheel of a white van, ran a red light, California Highway Patrol Sgt. Jim Del Carlo said.

The van hit the truck bed and ended up on its side, wrapped around the pole of the traffic light.

No one in the truck was injured, the CHP said.
