San Diego man dies when pickup truck crashes on I-5

A 21-year-old San Diego man was killed late Sunday night in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Fresno County, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash took place in the northbound lanes south of Shields Avenue about 11:40 p.m. The victim, driving a Ford Ranger, drifted off the interstate and the pickup truck overturned. He was later identified as Tyler Davey.

The CHP said he was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the truck.
