A man reported missing from the Shaver Lake area Wednesday was found Thursday afternoon near Dinkey Creek and Highway 168 in eastern Fresno County, the sheriff's office reported.

Kenneth Paul Young, 21, was suffering from dehydration and a lower leg injury he received in a motorcycle accident Wednesday.

Young's father reported him missing after receiving a text from his son advising he had injured his ankle and was in the Shaver Lake area. Deputies responded and had a full search going by 4 p.m. Soon after, a motorcycle registered in Young's name was found crashed near Dinkey Creek Road and Fishing Camp Road by Edison Forestry. Young's personal belongings were found scattered in the area as well.

Snowy conditions and nightfall hindered the search. As of Wednesday night, about 30 people, including volunteers and a sheriff's off-road safety team, were involved.

During the search, it was learned Young had an outstanding felony narcotics warrant for his arrest. Sheriff's spokesman Deputy Chris Curtice said Young was cited for the felony but not arrested.

About 2 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff's Eagle One helicopter crew spotted Young along Dinkey Creek approximately three miles from Highway 168. The crew was able to direct searchers to Young and he was taken to Clovis Community Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
