About 2,300 Kings County third-graders will attend Farm Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kings Fairgrounds in Hanford.

Farm Day is put on by the Kings County Farm Bureau and offers interactive agriculture exhibits. Presentations will include Farmer John Eggs on the life cycle of chickens, University of California at Davis on veterinary medicine, Lohse Apiaries on how bees make honey and Leprino Foods on making cheese.

Students will also get to visit with farm animals like cows, goats and miniature horses, and climb into farm equipment including tractors, a hay squeeze and a helicopter.
