Gay-Straight Alliance to hold conference, dance at Edison High

The Gay-Straight Alliance Network will hold the 2014 Expression Not Suppression conference on March 15 at Edison High School to stop harassment based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Students and adults will attend workshops and a resource fair focused on empowering youth to create safer schools. The keynote speaker will be Ronnie Veliz, a queer Peruvian-American agitator of faith who is devoted to public policy changes and advocacy efforts to reduce health disparities among young people.

The conference will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. followed by a youth-only dance at Edison High School, 540 E. California Ave., in southwest Fresno. For more information, visit www.gsanetwork.org/ens.
