Ex-Clovis High and Fresno City College wrestler Brady Bersano is one of five Cal Baptist wrestlers headed to the Division II national championships in the first year that the Lancers are eligible for the NCAA postseason.

Bersano and the rest of the field qualified at Super Regional tournaments this past weekend, with the nation's second-ranked 157-pounder winning his weight class at the Region IV competition in Grand Junction, Colo.

At the NCAA D-II nationals, set for March 14-15 in Cleveland, Bersano drew an opening round match with Mitchell Means of Fort Hays State, according to brackets released Tuesday.

Bersano owns a team-best 32-6 record and has won his past 11 matches. The winner of Bersano-Means will face fourth-ranked Clint Poster (29-7) of St. Cloud State or Ashland's Kyle Burns (19-10).
