The newly named Malayan tiger cubs take a stroll with mom. One is seemingly left behind. But not for long! Fresno Chaffee Zoo recently announced the names of its four Malayan tiger cubs following public votes conducted by the zoo and The Bee. The winning male tigers' names are Berani, which means "courage" or "brave" in the Malay language, and Cinta, which translates to "love." The female tigers' names are Arya, which means "truthful" or "warrior, " and Batari, which means "goddess."

The Fresno Bee is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
