Increased noise Saturday from Air National Guard Base in Fresno

The Fresno BeeMarch 1, 2014

Residents in the Fresno area may hear increased noise Saturday from the California Air National Guard Base in Fresno, home to the 144th Fighter Wing.

Base officials said to expect increased aircraft noise, simulated explosions and fire fights as part of a day-long military exercise that will end about 7 p.m. Saturday.

The exercise is required to test the operational readiness of the 144th Fighter Wing. A portion of the exercise will include working with Fresno and Clovis Fire Departments and the American Red Cross, officials said.
