Fresno State notebook: Diver takes fourth at MWC meet; equestrian team sweeps

Hannah Prigge placed fourth Saturday on the platform at the Mountain West Championships in San Antonio, matching her fourth Thursday in the 3-meter.

Prigge, a senior, was given a score of 233.55. En-tien Huang won with a 264.27. Bulldogs freshman Shelbie Holden placed 12th at 198.66.

Michelle Dockendorf was 13th in the 200 breaststroke and Esme Gullick 14th in the 200 backstroke and 200 butterfly.

Overall, the Bulldogs placed ninth out of 10 teams at the meet, finishing with 177 points.

Boise State was crowned the champ with 735 points.

Equestrian team sweeps home tourney

Hot off Friday's upset of nationally No. 2-ranked Baylor, the Fresno State equestrian team kept riding high, defeating Southern Methodist 10-5 for a sweep of its lone home tournament of the season.

The Bulldogs dominated the Mustangs in both the hunt seat and Western categories, grabbing six points in the former and four in the latter.

Macy Wilson scored an 82 in equitation on the flat to earn a Most Outstanding Player award and Sydney Elliot claimed the title in horsemanship.

Taylor Brown earned her third Most Outstanding award this season in reining.
