Tulare County will host Anti-Tobacco Challenge Bowl

The Fresno BeeFebruary 22, 2014

Twenty-five teams of sixth graders in Tulare County will participate in the 14th annual Anti-Tobacco Challenge Bowl Wednesday at the Holiday Inn in Visalia.

The event, located at 9000 W. Airport Drive, is designed to prevent tobacco use among teens through education. The Challenge Bowl is a game show-style format that requires quick call and response. Schools have been preparing their five-member teams for several weeks utilizing tobacco education curriculum.

The competition will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a break for lunch and activities by the Tulare County Friday Night Live program. The awards ceremony will begin at about 2 p.m.
