The Fresno BeeFebruary 21, 2014

Funeral arrangements for a Riverdale mother and her four children who died Feb. 15 in a fiery crash have been set for Tuesday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Riverdale.

The funeral for Esmeralda Tafoya-Saucedo, 29, Breanna Laura Reyes-Saucedo, 11, Jada Alize Saucedo, 6, Nikko Juvencio Saucedo, 3, and Isaac Jordan Saucedo, 1, will be at 10:30 a.m. at the church, 3047 W. Mt. Whitney Ave.

On the night of the crash, Tafoya-Saucedo was driving a Ford Expedition SUV south on Marks Avenue when a woman driving west on Excelsior Avenue did not stop at a stop sign and struck Saucedo's car. The SUV burst into flames, leaving the mother and her children trapped inside.

Joe Anthony Saucedo was following in another vehicle and tried to save his family.

Tafoya-Saucedo was a quality control officer for two years at Caruthers Raisin. Her daughter Breanna was in sixth grade at Riverdale Elementary, and Jada was in kindergarten at Fipps Primary Elementary.

The visitation for Saucedo-Tafoya and her children will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, followed by a rosary at St. Ann's.

Family and friends held a car show Friday night at Lollicup at First Street and Bullard Avenue in northeast Fresno to collect donations for the funeral arrangements. There will be a car wash today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Pep Boys at Shaw and Willow avenues in Clovis. In addition, a donations fund has been set up at Bank of the West for the family. The bank account number is 033227991.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Chapel of the Light Funeral Home in Fresno.
