Prep highlights for 2/20

** Quinn Rystad scored 27 points and Austin Armstead 19 to help Bullard, ranked No. 2 in The Bee's overall Top 10 rankings, defeat No. 5 Edison 81-72 for a sweep of the Tigers and the Knights' fifth consecutive County/Metro Athletic Conference title. Braxton Hicks led the Tigers with 21.

** Trent Reynolds had a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Bullpups -- ranked No. 1 in D-II by The Bee -- to a 60-46 victory over Lemoore as they clinched the West Yosemite League crown. Jordan Honneywood scored 14 for the Tigers.


** Alex Yokley gave fifth-seed Bullard a chance by scoring a goal in the final seconds of stoppage time; Jon Navarro, Sam Martin and Kelly Dowding delivered penalty kicks; and Peter Larsen closed a sensational night by denying two PKs from fourth-seeded Bakersfield as the Knights rallied in Kern County to earn a D-I semifinal date Tuesday at top-seed Central.

** Dylan Rusconi, a leading Bee Player of the Year candidate, scored twice as Central edged No. 9 Clovis West 1-0 in an All-Tri River Athletic Conference quarterfinal and rematch of the 2013 D-I championship won by the Golden Eagles in PKs.

** Trey Sena scored both goals to lift D-I second-seed Clovis North past No. 7 seed West in a 2-1 victory.

** Alexis Jimenez scored in regulation and seventh-seed Sunnyside of the North Yosemite League took care of business in PKs to stun No. 2 and 17-2-2 Golden West in a D-II quarterfinal in Visalia.

** Johnny Rodriguez scored in the 70th minute as second-seeded Washington defeated No. 10 Woodlake in D-IV, earning the Panthers a semifinal match at home Tuesday against No. 3 Shafter.

** Jose Torres headed in a first-half equalizer off a set piece from Cristian Marquez and Eduardo Espitia scored the go-ahead goal on a penalty in the second to help Orosi -- the top-seed in D-V -- escape No. 9 Fowler 2-1 in the quarterfinals.


** Fresno Christian's brother tandem of Daniel and Michael Cliff finished one- and two-over par (37 and 38), respectively, to lead the Eagles past Kerman 205 strokes to 239 in a nonleague contest at Madera Municipal Golf Course.


** Clovis North's Daly Meinert defeated Jacob Dunklin of Memorial 6-1, 6-2 on the No. 1 singles court to aid the Broncos in a 7-2 victory over the Panthers in a nonleague match. Alex Tacesu teamed with Stephen Pimentel to beat Dunklin and partner Ryan Leyba, 7-5, 7-6 on the top doubles court.
