Teen boy arrested in Hanford for making gang threats

Hanford police arrested a 15-year-old runaway Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2014, for yelling gang threats to a homeowner after fleeing police.

Police received a call regrading a wanted juvenile about 10:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Rodgers Road. The teenage boy was a runaway from a group home in Tulare County and had a no-bail warrant.

When officers arrived, the juvenile ran through backyards and jumped fences. Police chased him for more than two blocks when he ran into the back door of a house on the 1200 block of Richmond Avenue.

A man was inside the house playing the drums, and the teen hid in a bedroom. When the homeowner and police located the teen and took him into custody, he began yelling threats of retaliation at the homeowner, along with his gang affiliation.

Police arrested the juvenile for additional charges of witness intimidation with gang enhancement. He was booked into Kings County Juvenile Center.
