Fresno fire officials seeking suspected arsonist

The Fresno BeeFebruary 19, 2014

Fresno firefighters and police are asking for the public's help to find a suspected arsonist believed to have set four fires in central Fresno since Dec. 30, 2013.

Fire investigators said three to four juveniles have been seen at each of the fires in the area of Clay Avenue between Bond and First streets. However only one 18-year-old male, Cain Sanchez, was identified as being in the area during two of the fires, investigators said.

Cain is described as Hispanic, 5-foot 6-inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Additionally, investigators believe Cain was associating with two 15-year-olds and 34-year-old Joel "Jayy" Suarez.

Anyone with information about suspects or the arson fires is asked to call Fresno Fire Department investigator Christine Wilson at (559) 593-2527 or email Christine.Wilson@Fresno.gov.
