The Board of Directors at The Big Fresno Fair appointed board members Dora Westerlund and Linda Balakian Hunsucker to the 21st District Agricultural Association board of directors. Larry Serpa and William White were reappointed to the board of directors. The following new officers were selected for the 2014 year: Leta Ciavaglia, president; Debbie Jacobsen, vice president; and Jerry Pacheco, secretary/ treasurer.

Alicia D. Wrest, attorney at law, has become a shareholder with the Dias Law Firm Inc.

Cary Marsella was named Fresno branch sales manager for Williams Scotsman Inc. and will manage the eight-county territory in the Central Valley market.

A $1.5 million pledge last year from the California Pistachio Research Board to the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology brings Timothy Spann to Fresno State to conduct advanced research and education for the pistachio industry.

The Rotary Club of Fresno awarded $2,500 to Evangelicals for Social Action (ESA)/ Love INC. to purchase five Dell computers and $500 to Fresno Survivors of Suicide Loss Inc. for event T-shirts for participants and volunteers for the six-hour forum in March.

The Fig Garden Rotary Club awarded the following grants: Girl Scouts of Central CA South, $7,400 to provide multimedia and AV equipment for the new training room; City Without Orphans, $3,000 to help launch a national program in Fresno to help families in crisis prevent child abuse; and The First Tee of Fresno, $1,200 to provide golf equipment for youths.


Pear- son Realty has honored the following agents with the Annual Peer Award 2013: Phil Souza and Stanley Kjar, Fresno office, and Matty Matejcek, Visalia office. The winners are voted on by fellow sales agents in recognition of maintaining the highest standards of personal integrity, superior work ethic and individual professionalism.

The National Bicycle Dealer Association announced that Sunnyside Bicycles has been named one of "America's Best Bike Shops for 2013." The award was created to highlight shops that best support their community, provide top-notch customer service and support the industry locally and nationally.

New Faces

Chris Ingle has joined the Cornerstone Structural Engineering Group in the Fresno office. He is a California engineer-in-training with more than two years of structural design experience.

London Properties Ltd. hired residential sales staff: Denise Collins and Russell Nash, Fresno office; Caroline Castro, Hanford office; Janice Schmidt and Larissa Sherman, Merced office.

Ralph Boyajian has joined Quad Knopf's engineering services group as a principal engineer. He has nearly 40 years experience in project management.

Foad Safa has joined Deli Delicious Franchising Inc. as the director of franchise and company operations.

Christi Long has joined Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau as public relations and communications manager.


Elana Newcomb has been promoted to franchise training manager at Deli Delicious Franchising Inc.

Reza Nekumanesh has been promoted to vice president at Eagle Management Business Consulting.
